This is one of my favourite martini snacks.
I buy mine in Lidl, which is affordable and extremely convenient, but if you’re able to make your own and have the time and capacity, please go right ahead.

It’s also only available on a sporadic basis in Lidl. Whenever I see it I buy a couple of packs and savour them. Indeed octopus in any form should always be savoured.
All you need to do is drain them of oil and serve up the octopus slices on a plate.
It’s perfect for a Friday night martini when you’re exhausted from work and want an easy but sumptuous treat to help revive you with the ‘silver bullet’.

It can get a little messy so toothpicks and paper napkins are recommended. Chopsticks also work well.

Otherwise this is a high protein savoury dish, with a slight natural sweetness in the firm but delicate flesh.

A little goes a long way, so this is really only ever to share with at least one other person, as much as I love to eat it.

And obviously it goes beautifully with a martini (perhaps the controversial squid ink and octopus martini). A real treat. Enjoy!
